How to create Character Model Sheet?

To create a Game Character, there are many steps through which a character is created to use in a game. To starts with creating a character, there are a few steps that should be known before finalizing the concept.

Following are the things -

1. Purpose: What is the purpose of the character in the game? It can be used as the main character, a side character, villain, etc. The level of detailing will be all depends upon the involvement of the character in the game. 

2. Personality Type: There are many types of personality in the real world - Extrovert, introvert, Energetic, shy, lazy, and others. Out of those which type of personality the character is demanding. 

3. Other Aspects: His/ Her action style, age, and few more which is required to create a character as per the requirements in the game.

After creating a character as per the requirement. The next step is to create a character model sheet.

There are five easy steps to create a character model sheet-

1. Open a new artboard in the software, Define the Height & Width. 

Grandma (Model Sheet)

2. Create the character in the front view.

3. Create the guidelines based on the front view of the character. General line are starting from the head, chin, Shoulder, Hand Position, Pelvic Area, and last toe.
By determining these lines will help to create the profile & 3/4 view of the character easily.

Mr. Strongman (Character Model Sheet)

4. Create a profile view and a 3/4 view by referring to the front view. note the position of eyes, nose, mouth, hear starting point, Clothes & points which is important to include in the side or 3/4 view.

John (Model Sheet)

5. Creating the character from the side or 3/4 view will be a little tricky. As the character from the front view lacks a lot of details that needs to be cover in the profile or 3/4 view.

The main point while creating the character from side and other angles are to maintain the body shape and the position of the body features.

Old Shoe (Character Model Sheet)

If all the above-mentioned points will be kept in mind at the time of creating the Model Sheet, which will be a success in creating the character in 3D for the game.
